Take a deep breath
The Holidays are over. Find yourself
feeling like you need something to do? Try to fill the gaps with family.
That could include something as simple as discussion, crafts, a yes
answer when you might have said no. Some things I like to
do the fill the time are:
Short, Sweet and Cheap: Materials:
decorative pencils, tulle, wired garland; Simply tie a piece of tulle
around the metal band of the pencil and dress with the wired garland
and/or ribbon. The garland or ribbon thats tied in a double bow
will add strength to the knot of the tulle and a little something extra
for decoration.
Fun without the fuss: Several franchise
stores offer kid-friendly activities in a structured environment where
the mess is contained and all the materials are supplied for a nominal
fee. It takes only about an hour of your time (including drive time)
on Saturday mornings usually. Its a win-win situation for the
store, the parent, and the kids.
There are a few companies you can shop
by catalog or online that you can purchase kits to do crafty projects.
Theyre usually complete with everything you need except scissors,
tape, or glue. This is good for an evening piled up in the living room
floor. Whatever you do, enjoy your times together. Try turning the television
off. Give your kids all the attention you can now while they still want
it!
